It would be funny if one of us got hold of that virus and flooded the server with gay porn or something as messed up.

As lulzy as that would be, please trust me when I tell you this is very real and that attempting to sabotage an international cyber espionage mission is the last thing you want to do. If someone can get a sample of the malware and analyze it for an anonymous release that's likely the biggest public service someone could do.

If they're senselessly bombing the shit out of their own people, the last thing you want is to try to stick your nose in it.

Prone to weakness.
But I am a worshiper of the Cow.
Where weakness is lame.
I will crush my weakness.
With the weight of my pride.

Another thing about the Syrian uprising I think is very interesting is how it shows that governments are really making it a war of information, especially in the digital realm. This is true for all the arab spring revolutions as well. In Syria, Al-Assad has plenty of media outlets who's job is to get them on the government's side, and they use social media like YouTube and Facebook extensively to post fake comments in support of the regime or again democratic protesters. This tactic is being used increasingly around the globe in places like Egypt, China, Russia, etc etc. They're battling for your MIND!

"I am not the republican party. I am a libertarian conservative. Also, its not when people are "railing" on conservatives that I come on here. Its when I see stupid things that require smiting. I am being nice to you, get it? Im telling you the correct perspective so that you can see the error in your views, and so that you may reform and become better."
